Car with manual or standard transmission needs manual shift into first gear and once the car starts, it is required to manually shift into first gear. After the car rolls, the driver shifts manually into second, third and further as the speed increases. Due to the series of valve and switches that are meant to control the hydraulic pressure, it is possible to make the automatic shifting. If we talk about the cars that are available these days, they are available in automatic transmission.
If there is
any problem with automatic transmission, when accelerates from a stop, transmission
does not shift to the next higher gear. Hence, even after the engine speed
increases, the car drags. Also, the engine screams more than usual and the car
does not move smoothly. It is important to know that when there is failure in
the transmission control system, transmission remains in the low gear and the
car moves faster than it is meant to be in the low or first gear. This is the
reason behind loud roar from the engine. To keep away from such issues, best transmission service is the viable option.
It is always
recommended to check the level of transmission fluid. If the level is low, it
is good to top up with correct fluid type. Also, it is required to check the
color of the transmission fluid on the dipstick. If the color is red or light
green, there’s nothing to worry about. However, if the color is black or dark
brown, major transmission repair are needed.
Sometimes, the
problem comes from disconnected, misaligned, broken or bent transmission-shift
selector linkage. This means that position that’s indicated on the gear one is
on does not match with the actual transmission gear.
